Robot Competition

Overview

Robot soccer is a uniquely demanding benchmark for humanoid robotics. This workshop connects the RoboCup community with the broader humanoid robotics, robot learning, control, and embodied-AI communities to examine how these capabilities can be advanced jointly.

Expected Attendance: ~50 participants from academia and industry

Topics

Autonomous Humanoid Soccer
Visual perception, localization, game understanding
Humanoid Control
Dynamic locomotion, whole-body control, physical interaction
Foundation Models
Vision-language-action models, multimodal learning
Multi-Agent System
Communication, coordination, semantic representations
Benchmarking
Reproducible evaluation, shared datasets, sim-to-real transfer
Robot Safety
Real-world deployment, robust execution

Invited Speakers

Peter Stone
The University of Texas at Austin
Sony AI
Joydeep Biswas
The University of Texas at Austin
Changjiu Zhou
Singapore Polytechnic
Yan Chang

Tentative Programme

The workshop will be structured as a full-day event featuring three or four invited talks, with speakers from both academia and industry, and two contributed-paper sessions. The paper sessions will cover topics such as perception, locomotion, control, robot learning, multi-agent coordination, foundation models, and benchmarking, with selected contributions presented as lightning talks followed by discussion. The program might include a demonstration session, subject to space availability, and a final panel bringing together academic and industrial perspectives on the future of humanoid robot soccer and general-purpose humanoid robotics.

Participation & Visibility

Target Audience: Roboticists, AI researchers, machine learning engineers, control systems designers, and embodied intelligence experts from academia and industry.

Promotion Strategy:

Post-Workshop: Special issue in Autonomous Robots journal featuring selected workshop papers.

Inclusion & Diversity

The workshop is committed to fostering an inclusive research community with balanced gender representation, diverse scientific expertise, and support for researchers at all career stages. All content will be accessible on mobile devices and shared asynchronously through dedicated platforms (Discord, website).
